Sony began marketing the film in the U.S. in 2005/2006, using the tag-partner Columbia Tristar; for it in Europe it was not until 2010. In fact, files and packages are dated 2008, perhaps that of 2010 is a reprint. Initially, I thought to take the R1, but fortunately I never did! The master is absolutely identical, but the transfer is not: in the two frames being compared, especially the second, the difference is remarkable. They range from the increased amount of the cleaning in more detail (just see the stripes of the dress), greater porosity of the faces. Sony presents the film in its original format and anamorphic - only the opening credits are letterboxed. Splendid titles too (S. Bass) with the silhouette open early and closes at the end (!).
Video extraordinary levels of definition in some cases more than amazing for a DVD, grayscale perfect. The flaws are two: some artifacts in dark scenes, detailed long shots a little, or better, less detailed than the rest. Very little damage to the film left off. In short, a 'work from Sony,' which should also hold the rights to other European countries, and in fact I do not think Italy has ever seen yet. English Preminger's masterpiece, probably his best movie technically sequence with the plans drawn up and long tracking shots, another variation on the psyche of a master. Curiously, Dullea (known more for the party in 2001 Kubrick), had played a similar role debut film, in a similar film, David And Lisa . Probabilmente, Preminger all'epoca rimase colpito dalle capacità dell'attore.

Paramount
A very dated, but not bad after all. The color scheme is certainly faithful to the original, the chroma is very uniform, even cleaning up high levels. Niente extra.
